动物标本资源共享平台标本信息库已整理整合了各类群动物标本265万号，完成了部分《中国动物志》的电子化，完成了鸟类鸣声、采集、标本制作、中国重要物种资源、濒危鸟类、濒危兽类、物种元数据的建设等等专题，为实现我国动物标本信息共享做出了重要贡献。
